The car park at the Centre belongs to Canterbury City Council and is operated on a first come first served basis. Occasionally it is over-subscribed and some of you may have to park on the estate, along Thanington Road or at the Park & Ride. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please let us know if you have any difficulties with this, or any access needs and we will make arrangements to help wherever possible.
Please do not park around the gate area or in the space for emergency services. As Centre manager I have to ensure the health and safety of everyone and access and egress in an emergency. We have disabled people in the Centre every day, so please avoid using Blue Badge spaces wherever possible, and please do not park on the access ramp- as has happened in the past.
Centre staff will always tailor and adjust the service according to your access and functional needs and requirements whenever we possibly can. Just tell us what you need.
Our spacious accessible toilets are situated directly opposite the Stour, Hambrook and Milton rooms and within easy reach of all other rooms. They are left and right transfer depending on your needs and requirements. Baby changing facilities are in separate toilet cubicles in the hall and in the café area. All are gender neutral.
This area is always staffed and there are always upwards of 2 people on duty. Our friendly staff team will welcome you to the Centre and show you to your room(s). There is a large ‘waiting area’ just round the corner from the accessible toilets, where your guests and colleagues can wait for their meeting or appointment. Should you need to make changes to your room or the lay-out, or you need extra facilities we will help you in any way we can. This area is covered by CCTV and the Centre has free Wi-Fi throughout. The Centre has good parking, level access and is well known for its warm friendly atmosphere and clean, well-maintained facilities, please come for a cuppa and a look round!
We have a 5 star rating for food hygiene and we can provide a cold buffet for your event, training or meeting, just add your requirements to the booking form. We can
also provide tea, coffee, herb teas and jugs of water or juice in your room, just let us know! info@thanington.org
